Mehran Pourvahab

Mehran Pourvahab has a background in computer engineering and extensive experience in the fields of Medical Informatics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large and Small Language Models (LLMs/SLMs), Networking, Cyber Security, Cloud Security, Cloud Forensics, Software-defined Networking, and Blockchain Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Azad University, Iran, where his thesis on collecting reliable legal evidence in cloud network forensics earned top honors with a perfect evaluation of 20/20.

He completed two postdoctoral positions at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal. His first postdoctoral position was at the C4 – Cloud Computing Competences Centre, where he worked on developing ML and data science platforms for cardiology and neurodegenerative disease prediction. His second was at the Assisted Living Computing and Telecommunications Laboratory (ALLab), focusing on predictive algorithms and knowledge-based modules in Medical Informatics through AI.
After these positions, Mehran served as an active member of the Centre for Human Language Technology and Bioinformatics (HULTIG), where he conducted research on NLP, LLMs, semantic interoperability, and AI-driven healthcare applications.

He also served as Data Manager and Project Manager of the Unified Data Model in the EU-funded Phara-On project, one of the largest R&D initiatives in Europe, where he designed and implemented an RDF-based semantic data model enabling interoperability among heterogeneous technologies for healthy and active ageing.

Currently, Mehran serves as Co-CTO at cdnCore, where he leads technology strategy, innovation, and advanced system development. His work spans Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Cloud Security, and Data Science, with a strong focus on working at the edge of emerging technologies to design and implement next-generation solutions bridging academia and industry.

He previously served as a faculty member in the computer department at Azad University, Langarud Branch. He has been a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society since 2012, and was elevated to IEEE Senior Member status in 2025. He has also actively contributed to the Iranian ICT Guild Organization, serving as head of the security and network commission. He holds professional certifications including MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer, MikroTik Certified Wireless Engineer, and Cyberoam Certified Network & Security Professional.

With extensive publications, peer-review activities, and years of teaching in algorithms, databases, networks, and programming, Mehran has built a career that integrates research, education, and industry. He continues to foster innovation and collaboration through his expertise in AI, networking, and cutting-edge technologies.
